Everyone repping Descente.. I swear I'm looking at a 4 hour advertisement...

But it's Nagano dammit.. I don't care! :)

Miyazaki 宮崎県 Prefecture

That is where our favorite Captain Fisherman is from originally (and still spends a lot of time in)

Nagano's ship the 28th Konpira Maru 第二十八 金比羅丸
(Translation for 28th is actually the age in which he became captain of this ship)

He's been working as a fisherman for more than half his life at this point (right out of junior high)

This is how they fish. One of the many ships Takasui employs gets on one side with one side of the netting

While Nagano's ship is on the other side with the other netting

His boat is there to carry the payload back to the docks to be processed while the bigger main ships stay out collecting the fish.

He does this for 25 days out of the month, 12 months out of the year for a total of 300 days a year. Yes.. he only has 5 days a month off..

Back in 2006, on his 4th trip to the finals he finally won Sasuke 17.

Here he is in January, 2009 during his wedding.. Yes.. that was his wedding cake topper. The Final Stage Tower!

Makoto and his new bride Asami 阿紗 美 (who looked breathtaking that day)

6 months later their first child was born

This is their son Kaiou 塊王 who was born in June, 2009

The last tournament ended in disappointment as he failed in the 1st Stage

Since then he's been training hard (see? he doesn't have obstacles! LOL) any way he could get in training

Now to the present as we get set for the very solemn Sasuke caning ritual™ presided by Brother Takeda and in attendance are Lee and Shingo who seems to be already in a moment of silence..

Takeda is gently whispering in Nagano's ear..

Takeda: I know you are nervous.. and you did slap me with a crappy red towel with no padding...

Takeda: But since you are nervous.. I'll probably be stoned if I maim you.. I'll use a thicker towel while you cheat and use a jacket to add padding...

So for that.. I'm using more force...

Like THIS!!

I think he felt that in his spleen..

Shedding off his jacket as Takeda now has Coat duty

Geez.. Nagano looks like a toothpaste tube who has been squeezed a little too hard..

I mean the cowboy hat is utterly adorable..

LOL but his jacket is reversed! Unless that's an additional jacket...

Taking one last deep breath

And acknowledging the thunderous applause as this intro is most likely going to be the longest..

I mean seriously.. it must be 2 1/2 pages long of dialogue going on here.. LOL

OMG.. he .. slipped???

DAMMIT GO BACK GO BACK!!!

They went right back to the beginning again starting with the family.

Geeeeeez stupid idiot scared the hell out of me...

Nagano taking his time since he did fail this in Sasuke 10 for being overconfident

Having no issues with this thing now

and methodically going up the Jump Hang

Not as graceful going down..

And really getting tangled on things...

Sped up and completed the Bridge Jump with ease

Seems everyone was having some sort of issue getting off the Log Grip..

Nagano Urkling' his pants up

Taking an exorbitant amount of time on this set up.. just.. standing there..

And has no issues with it once he moves

Having the face of "oh crap" as he gets set for the Circle Slider which he barely passed in Sasuke 17

Taking one last deep breath

And starts to run forward

OOOOOOOOMMMMMMGGGGGGGGG

WOOOOOOOOW.. I mean.. I figured he might have issues.. but .. WOW

Once I saw his take off I knew he was in big trouble..

Totally whiffed...

He didn't get the height.. and just couldn't even TOUCH the Circle

That's about as close as he got..

Takasui in disbelief

Asami with son drop to her knees..

and then has an attack of the giggles.. Kaiou seems to think that was fun.. LOL

Yuuji reacting to the crowd gasp

Then he realizes it's Nagano that they are gasping about..

And he's already freaking out as a phantom hand comes out of nowhere and tries to comfort him by patting his back

Yuuji is gutted.. he's the last Champion standing now...

Takeda living an dying every second..

He sees it in slow motion as well

And starts to drop to his knees

I don't mean to laugh here but watch what he does..

He shimmies back a foot to avoid leaning over a big vat of mud.. LOL

The place is swamped with Mud

And right now all he's doing is lamenting the loss of his friend.

It's just him and Shingo now keeping the hope of the All-Stars alive

Nagano screaming in the water this AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH of frustration

As he just plops over the side of the septic sludge pit..

Hmm.. maybe we can get him to mud wrestle Takeda.. I'd pass popcorn.. free tickets ya'll!

Yuuji Urushihara 漆原裕治 talking to...

Koji Hashimoto 橋本亘司 who's already advanced to the 2nd stage

Whatever Yuuji said .. Koji is totally cheesing now

Nagano still in disbelief kneeling over the pile of mud

That.. is a totally frustrated look...

The biggest.. wtf.. face ever..

And mixed with bitter dissapointment

Right from the get go he seemed.. "off"

Here he did the classic trampoline take off

Having no issues climbing up the rope

Here does the same take off.. on a springboard

Yes I sound like a broken record.. but they do NOT act the same way.. YOU have to do all the work on a springboard..

He had the distance but not the height..

That was about as close as he was going to get

Here he realizes he's.. done for..

TBS replaying his body posture.. completely arched back and legs completely bent

He should have been fully extended

To have any hope to stretch out the distance which is higher and farther than it was in Sasuke 17

And very unusual dive into the water.. I'm glad he didn't get hurt..

He had mud all over his face even in the water.. that's.. nasty..

The out of breath and frustrated fisherman trying to come up with words

and the whole time never taking his eyes off that stupid ring

You can hear the lament in his voice

and a bunch of cocking his head back and forth in a negative fashion

I don't even need to know the translation at this point

His face says it all
