Sasuke spoilerific review ;) Warning.. incoming blog of Sasuke 25.. if you don’t want to know.. you have been warned :D For a preview of this event.. Please see SASUKE 25 NAVI 1 hour review of Sasuke 25 with fluff pieces of all the major players in the upcoming Sasuke!). Oh.. and as Ube says: If you are from the G4 Forums, DON'T POST THIS THERE. They expect everyone to stick their head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist..
UBE'S Sorta-LIVE-BLOG FOR SASUKE 25 IS HERE!
Massive thanks to Ube for his help on the names in English and Japanese of all the competitors!! Thanks to scnoi and Sasukepedia and the SASUKE データサイト (Data site) for the kanji.Ube is mentioning that Akiyama is complaining that the previous guys who failed were just "rushing" and it caused them to fail. He wishes they would take their time a bit.
Of course everyone is changing shoes.. given the stupidity in Japan of those who got pissed at Yuuji for doing what 4 others did in the exact final..
When we first met him he was a hairy crab (yes.. I said hairy crab...) fisherman. Think Deadliest Catch Japan :p
TBS always pumps him up as the most sacred of the Champions and seeing the amount of posts I do on this guy I'd pretty much agree. He is the 2nd Champion of this show.
Also a fisherman he's from literally the opposite side of Japan fishing a totally different type of marine life. He fishes Horse Mackerel and other sardine type fish.
Cccccombo breaker.. okay okay.. sorry. Completely different type of champion is our latest Champion.
And for us who have watched Sasuke Maniac when it was still on TV.. we've seen him in Sasuke Trials for a couple years.
Aww Akiyama is forced to put that nozzle of Sasuke Spray right up on his face so he knows where it's pointing.
Interesting that he is a fan of Rocky.. he's channeling his inner Sly Stallone reenacting the Rocky 4 training in Siberia thing..
He has a degenerative eye disorder. He can't see all that well so he only way he can see is to be reaaaaally close to things.
He has degenerative retinoschisis. No surgery, no glasses or anything can be done to correct his vision.
In fact in Sasuke 5 he decided to skip the tournament since it coincided with him opening his private practice.
In fact.. reminds me of the dude in Sasuke 24 that got himself tired doing a lot of that exercise before his run...
LOL optical illusion.. I see the OTHER bar behind him sideways and think he was balancing on that one when he's on the bar in front of him that's smaller. LOL He's got skillz.
TBS reminding you of the last times he's been on these obstacles. Sasuke 11 he tackled the Rolling Log successfully.
And after many trials and tribulations.. Akiyama has done very well on the more recent Jump Hang attempts. Ever since he bought one and practiced at home, he hasn't failed since.
The last time he did well on the Warped wall .. has been a while.. this is his current Achilles heel.
TBS maybe hinting that Jump Hang at night will take him out? P.S. I'm more worried about the Bridge Jump... mental note..
I do hope he doesn't lose because of his sight.. seriously. I am still praying for a great Akiyama tourney.
Which is very good because he's been the forgotten man for a long time. I'm very happy TBS/M9 is bringing him back regularly. I love this guy.
Doing well on the Dome Steps (same spot Shingo slipped.. maybe they cleared some of the mud? LOL doubtful)
Considering that he has practiced this a lot at home.. he can do this with his eyes closed.. I hope..
Ironic that an obstacle that he has beaten before and usually doesn't mess with your eyesight (it's all lower body) is the one that takes him out.. AGAIN..
All-Star Kazuhiko Akiyama 秋山 和彦 - Death by Time up on Warped Wall
I certainly hope he comes back stronger and better. Listen to Nagano dude.. he's been complaining about his lower body lack of strength (and lack of stamina because of it).

Aww I was so sorry for him. I agree with Nagano about his need to train his lower body as well, but damn, he HAD that. Too bad. I'm glad that TBS guys are allowing him to come back as a regular and, for once, they gave him his spot as Sasuke champion. He was the friggin first one ever to achieve Kanzenseiha!
Now I'm wondering how he would have done on the Circle Slider. Thinking about it, Ryo's fail was an exact replica of his in Sasuke 17! I hope both of them know the technique difference between trampoline and springboard now. Even though it woulda been difficult to see the ring. Speaking of...I was damn impressed seeing him clearing the Bridge Jump! I thought he would have failed there as well. I still don't know HOW did he manage to catch a rope he couldn't see on an obstacle he never did before- but I'm glad he proved me wrong.
Go Akiyama! See ya next time!
Yeah he had it in the way Yamada had it in 24. All he had to do was support his weight.. he had that .. full fingers curled on top. I think it was a mental break down at that point.
Agreed on what would have happened in the Circle. He has a great technique for the trampoline.. but he utterly botched the Springboard in 17... though one could argue that he learned from that mistake. Given that he did fantastic on 2 leaps of faith (Jump hang and that friggin' bridge jump) I think he had about a 50/50 chance given that he seemed to be a bit more determined. Though when he got to the wall. it was like he knew he was defeated.. weird ha?
And YES! I WANT HIM BACK!
the photo used on the top of this blog showing all the All stars has Takeda & Nagano reaching the top of the kabe, but Akiyama below them. Symbolic picture as you can see.
I was initially very happy about the Bridge jump victory, the time up on the damn wall was very disappointing.
.. but.. he was sitting :) LOL I know :)
Yeah though you have to admit that it was symbolic WHERE he failed :( No one can blame eyesight on that or bad luck. He simply needs to train more.
