Ube and I have personal bets whether or not Drama Queen Yamada is going to emerge or turn into something else. This time.. he seems very very introspective.. at least so far.. let's see what happens..

He held the title for 3 consecutive Finals in a row! (of course before Nagano came along)

Poor Yamada. Still, he did better this time. I hope he clears the first stage next time. He's got a birthday coming up on the 22nd. I made a card for him (if you want to see it, it's on Multiply, same place as the Takeda pic) and got him a t-shirt that says LOUISIANA on it. I also wrote him a letter to wish him happy birthday and to encourage him to keep competing. He once said that it really touches him when children encourage him to keep competing. In Japan you're not an adult till you're 20, so Yamada would still consider me to be a child. I hope that helps and that he'll keep competing.

Hey Tiger! Yep Yamada is the same age (a little younger) than my oldest sister. That's sweet you gave him something for it! I hope he responds! I think the fact that anyone would another country despite their age is still giving him support should make him fell good. And yes he did much better this time though he still has to fight whatever is in his head that keeps him from succeeding!

Omori.. WOW! I remember him being pretty good in some of the earlier competitions (less comedy, more domination).
Sounds funny but he does look younger now that he was when he kept painting his hair all those freaky colors.. LOL
