Sasuke 23 Official Airdate

SASUKE 23 Official Airdate
.
Did I explain how much I adore Lost in Ube? Yes.. let me let you know :) Ube was kind enough to double check TV Guides in Japan for any hint of Sasuke 23 or Kunoichi 8 airdates on TBS. Lo and behold he found it!

According to 月刊ザハイビジョン (Monthly The HiVision) and 月刊ザテレビジョン...

It's official!
SASUKE 23 - Sunday, September 27th, 19:00 - 22:54 JST.
(7 pm Local time - 10:54 pm) - Showtime 3 hours and 54 minutes!
Station: TBS (Japan)
Thanks to the super sleuths at Sasuke Maniac Forums:
"The live feed of TBS is on TVants. However, it is mislabeled as "Japan>NTV" (edit.. as the date gets closer I will change which feed it is. It seems to change almost daily!)

(7 PM Japan Standard Time) (Sunday evening)
(6 AM Eastern Time) (Sunday morning)
(3 AM Pacific Time) (Sunday early morning)

TBS official page

SASUKE NAVI

I mentioned this before - Sasuke Navi (for Sasuke Navi 21 and for Sasuke Navi 22) is a great show! It's a 1 hour preview of the upcoming tournament. For this year I expect to see Sasuke Trials Fall 2009, Makoto Nagano baby birth announcement and even possible ANW Trials. The show will air BEFORE SASUKE and the SAME DAY. Please note.. they do a LOT of commercials for Sasuke and have been known to show a little bit of spoilers. So please bare this in mind when deciding to watch Sasuke Navi.

SASUKE 23 - Sunday, September 27th, 14:00 - 14:54 JST.
(2 pm Local time - 2:54 pm) - Showtime 54 minutes!
Station: TBS (Japan)

(2 PM Japan Standard Time) (Sunday afternoon)
(1 AM Eastern Time) (Sunday morning)
(10 PM Pacific Time) (Saturday evening)

Taping for Sasuke 23 is rumored to be September 12 (no official confirmation from Monster 9 yet) and Kunoichi 8 is confirmed to be next week, Wednesday, September 2, 2009. (Edit.. taping date for Sasuke 23 has changed to Monday, September 14th).

FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SEE THIS LIVE AS IT AIRS!!!

Please note my page on how and what programs show TBS. From personal experience watching Sportsman #1 in January and Sasuke 22 in March.. PLEASE DOWNLOAD TVANTS.. I cannot possibly stress it any stronger. MANY people used KeyHole and were horribly disappointing when the picture was completely non viewable when under load of a lot of users. We expect a LOT more people watching again since Sasuke will fall on a weekend (and not a school night). KeyHole will definitely either crash or go about 2 frames per .. hour.. if lucky when several thousand people visit the server at once. The last time under heavy load many were able to watch uninterrupted through TVAnts. It does run 1 minute behind KeyHole but the picture is a but more stable. You will most likely get a couple buffer problems (server side) but it continues right where it left off. Best yet, during the Sasuke 22 showing it did not crash even once AND you can record it through VLC. If another solution presents itself in the next month I will update this page accordingly.

Please note that this connotates LIVE Streaming.. You must wake up at that time to see it if you plan on watching it live. TBS DOES NOT REPEAT BROADCASTS. Sorry for being so blunt but for the past year and a half I've been blogging about Sasuke this is the first question I get as when someone refused to head any warning. It will not repeat (this is not G4) so if you miss it you have to be lucky to find a way to get a copy at another time. I cannot stress it enough.. if you want to watch it live you have to get up and watch it live - it will not repeat at another time. We are lucky to be able to watch a foreign show live as it airs in another country. Please don't complain at the time you have to wake up to watch it.

great!!!! Thanks Arsenette and thanks Ube!
I hope I won't mess up with time zones.

Arsenette said...

LOL you caught me changing the last paragraph :) I"ll see if I can find that "time zone calculator" that someone had with a timer so you know EXACTLY when it airs. It might take me 24 hours to get it though.

Awesome. Now I don't have to worry about going to class.

BTW, I have the time zone calculator installed on my computer.

Sasuke 23 will air @ 6 am EST.

I'll be at church during part of the airing. Can you record off of TVANTS?

SuperNOVA MANIAC said...

And just in case for people who can't watch using TVAnts nor KeyHole, I will have my backup stream up while I'm watching.

Arsenette said...

Hey Sess :) Yep I have that buried in the text :) tehehhehe.. that's the time I have to get up (well I'll be up earlier if Sasuke Navi is on in the same day.. I'm praying it's not..)

Tiger - it's monumentally stressful to blog on it and worry about recording it at the same time. I have a suggestion of joining the board I go to and see if someone there records it. My brain is going to be marshmellow by Sunday afternoon as it is :D

Hey Nova :) That worked for those who couldn't watch either :) I appreciated it very much since I knew a couple people who used it instead.

I'm new to all of this. What's a backup stream?

Arsenette said...

Hey Tiger :)

A backup stream is something that was provided by SuberNova Maniac back in Sasuke 22. He runs the feed through another program to allow others who don't want or can't download the program into a website. So you'd go to the website and see the feed running in a little window. The quality was lower but it at least allowed others who wouldn't be able to see it some way of watching it through a website. As the date gets closer I'm sure Nova will post that information on the boards.

We have about a month (probably less if Kunoichi is before Sasuke in terms of airing dates in TBS) to figure out if there will be other online options to see the show. There is a thread on the Sasuke boards with the latest information as to what's available and what works in terms of online viewing. So far TVAnts worked for us during Sasuke 22.

wow I just realized :looking at that timer that you put on makes me feel excited like...like...oh I don't even know!

Arsenette said...

I put the timer now on the post. It was really slowing my page down dramatically. If it does continue I might have to take it out altogether.. figures I'd pick one that was super busy :p

Arsenette:

NTV -> TV Asahi. I think you already saw it on the forums, but just double checking

Arsenette said...

Yeah right now I'm leaving it alone until we figure out where the heck the feed will come from. Since I posted this it moved 3 times.. LOL

Hi. So what is the "final" tvants channel called?

Scoped_Knife said...

Help! TVAnts isn't working with TBS! All it allows me to see is the opening to some anime that was on hours ago, then it freezes! If anyone can provide me with any help on viewing and saving Sasuke 23, contact me at scopedknife@hotmail.co.uk please!

Arsenette said...

Unfortunately TVAnts did NOT show TBS at all. Many people missed the broadcast because of it. At the last minute someone was able to stream a paid version of a TV streamer called WIST but even then only 50 people were allowed by the program to watch it. I was so frustrated.

Scoped_Knife said...

That is SO FRUSTRATING! And I spent ages configuring it to VLC media player too! Do you know of anywhere I can get a download, or anybody from whom I can download it or be sent it?

Arsenette said...

Personally for me Sasuke 23 will go down in infamy.. not because of the results of the competition.. but because of the utter EPIC FAIL of the free online streaming. People who paid for their streams got to see it but those of us who relied on the mercy of others got really burnt :(

We did the best we could with what we had.. just sucks since we all prepared diligently for it :(

On the forums I go to (Sasuke Maniac) they have some information on where to find the feed we had. It might have been updated (and I don't monitor that since I recorded it myself). Sign up there and PM one of the moderators to see if they can help.

Scoped_Knife said...

Thanks. It really is a rather annoying turn of events. I'll check and see if nobody can provide me with a download ^_^

Arsenette said...

Oh yeah.. my brain was exploding with everyone on the forums going "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" as each was kicked out of the first livestream room. We did not anticipate that the program has a hard cap on people.. and we didn't anticipate so many people watching! That at least was good news! We had at LEAST 150 trying to watch at once just in the USA alone. I have no idea how many actually watched since a few ended up buying the paid WIST service in frustration when they missed Sasuke Navi just 4 hours prior.

Scoped_Knife said...

Well when I went back to try to start the stream up again, about an hour and a half into the program, TVAnts numbered the (attempting) audience of TBS at 334, and even more may have attempted to stream after that: that's a lot of people.

Arsenette said...

WOW.. really? I had no idea... I was buried in SasukeMania / ZOMG I CAN'T SEE THIS all morning.

Wow so that means quite a number of people actually saw some of the broadcast.. and a lot more wanted to!

Scoped_Knife said...

Yes it does. It's good to see that SASUKE is finally perhaps going to begin to achieve the popularity it deserves!

Arsenette said...

Very much agreed :) I'm ecstatic that there are more international supporters :) Now praying for DVD's..

Scoped_Knife said...

I'm with you on that one. Do you think the petition will work?

Arsenette said...

Dunno but it's better than doing nothing I guess. Just wish I can get more signatures but I guess it will be a matter of time. Positive though is that I can send it during the "off" time since Sasuke is done for this season and Kunoichi is next week.

Scoped_Knife said...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I signed it and got a few friends to sign it too, just to help add to it. How many signatures does it have now?

Arsenette said...

Currently 240 so just under half of what I was hoping for.

Scoped_Knife said...

I've currently got the link as my Sasuke Maniac forum sig. Can you think of anywhere you could post the link (that you haven't already) that could attract more signatures?

Arsenette said...

I don't know but I have been writing them on my latest posts hoping people looking for Sasuke 23 stuff will find it and sign it. Since then a few have signed it.

Scoped_Knife said...

I've gotten (I think) seven people to sign it besides myself. When I get a chance to talk to a load of my other friends, I'll get them to sign it too. It's almost on 250 now, am I correct?

Arsenette said...

If you gave them the link you can see the # of people :) we are 3 short of 250 atm.

Scoped_Knife said...

How many signatures did you say you were waiting for before you were going to send it off?

Arsenette said...

It's on the actual petition :) 500 if I could. Though not sure if I'm going to get there... I'll decide later this month when things in Monster 9 calm down. It's a busy month there with a lot going on.

Scoped_Knife said...

I can imagine. Personally, I don't think you should give up on your original target. It's definitely worth the wait if we can get the extra signatures.
