SASUKE 24!!

PART TEN

(PART ONE) (PART TWO) (PART THREE) (PART FOUR) (PART FIVE) (PART SIX) (PART SEVEN) (PART EIGHT) (PART NINE)

Sasuke spoilerific review ;) Warning.. incoming blog of Sasuke 24.. if you don’t want to know.. you have been warned :D For a preview of this event.. Please see SASUKE NAVI FALL 2010 (1 hour review of Sasuke 24 with fluff pieces of all the major players in the upcoming Sasuke!) and the SASUKE PREVIEW SHOW that aired an hour before the official broadcast. Bare with me.. this show was 5 1/2 hour long (not including the specials..).. Took a break to see Sportsman #1 and rest as best I could. Hopefully I'll have more up this week coming up. Oh.. and as Ube says: If you are from the G4 Forums, DON'T POST THIS THERE. They expect everyone to stick their head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist..

UBE'S Sorta-LIVE-BLOG FOR SASUKE 24 IS HERE!

(Massive thanks to Ube for his help on the names in English and Japanese of all the competitors!!)

2nd Stage for Sasuke 24!

6 obstacles - 85 second time limit

Obstacles to look for in terms of taking people out have been the 2nd obstacle - Salmon Ladder サーモンラダー

The new obstacle from Sasuke 23 - Yuuji's demise - Unstable Bridge アンステーブルブリッジ

And the old favorite but still dangerous obstacle that took out Sato in Sasuke 22 - Metal Spin メタルスピン

The newest obstacle for this tournament is the actually a variation of the old Balance Tank バランスタンク it's a lot shorter distance and it finishes at the bottom of a wall that you climb (a rope is provided)

Balance Tank バランスタンク and the rope provided to get you back out of the little pit. Personally I think the distance of the balance tank is too short.. but let's see how it fares with people on it..

TBS and their charts.. there are 12 people in Stage 2
Sato Hiromichi 佐藤弘道

Yoshiyuki Okuyama 奥山義行

Taiwan's Lee Enchi リー・エンチ

Kenji Takahashi 高橋 賢次

Yuuji Washimi 鷲見裕二

Terukazu Ishikawa 石川輝一

Toshihiro Takeda 竹田敏浩

We are back with Fumiyasu Satō 佐藤 文康 - the less annoying announcer..

For those who are curious what the music to start Stage 2 is.. The song is "Operation Room" from the PS3 game Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight (known as Crossfire in the United States)

Kawaguchi Fan club.. wtf.. is that .. a cheetah.. coat? Yikes..

Tomohiro Kawaguchi 川口朋広

First obstacle here is the Downhill Jump ダウンヒルジャンプ

Second obstacle is Salmon Ladder サーモンラダー

He's actually doing really well on this

I like the new transition into the 3rd obstacle (removing the Stick slider) - Unstable Bridge アンステーブルブリッジ

... no NOOOONONONONONONONO.....

OH CRAP!!! it's just like Yuuji .. well.. sorta.. Nooooooooooo...

Crap.. yet again another Top of the show and commercials spoiler.. but still.. I really like Kawaguchi and he just did the same mistake as Yuuji did in 23..

Toshihiro Takeda 竹田敏浩, Shingo Yamamoto 山本進悟 and Bunpei Shiratori 白鳥文平

Needless to say they were shocked..

Bunpei in particular was taken by surprise

Takeda hoping that's not the start of a reaaaally short stage 2...

Yuuji looking intent..

oh and he is soooo not happy.. especially since he specifically trained with Kawaguchi to not make this exact mistake..

You can hear him start to get pissed...

DANGIT!

I WARNED YOU!

Yuuji in a million depressions...

Kawaguchi is just .. stunned..

Yep.. same mistake.. wasn't stable enough before he let go..

Because M9 can't resist promoting Muscle Musical マッスルミュージカル

Terukazu Ishikawa 石川輝一

Ishikawa staring down the Downhill Jump ダウンヒルジャンプ

Doing well on the Unstable Bridge アンステーブルブリッジ

He gets to the new obstacle the variation of the old Balance Tank バランスタンク

Yep.. the distance is too short... he was barely on the tank and he jumped..

Next is the Metal Spin メタルスピン

And.. Noooooooooooo he falls off

Naoki Iketani can't believe it...

Terukazu Ishikawa 石川輝一 - Death by Metal Spin

Naoya Tajima 田島直弥

Hey they got more footage.. here's him running

Here's him sucking in Sasuke 23.. he was part of the run of STQ'ers that all got pwned by Salmon ladder..

Unidentified chick with him

Naoya Tajima 田島直弥

Ahh.. revenge is sweet!

Connecting to the Unstable Bridge

And he clears!

Doing well on the balance tank

.. his turn on the Metal Spin

But first nekkid kid with wet hair...

Oh yeah.. the other Sportsman #1 commercial (yes I'll blog about this after Sasuke 24's blog is complete - most likely next week - the show was cool and I did enjoy it.. unlike Kunoichi.. ehem..)

And he clears the Metal Spin!

Final obstacle is Wall Lifting ウォールリフティング
50 kg = 110 lbs
40 kg = 88 lbs
30 kg = 66 lbs
P.S. I love this calculator..

And he is the first clear!!

Kenji and Yuuji celebrate!

Naoya Tajima 田島直弥 - STAGE TWO CLEAR

Naoya getting revenge on the Salmon Ladder that took him out the last time

STQ'er in the 3rd Stage!

Naoya Tajima 田島直弥 getting interviewed

Jun is feeling nervous..

Jun Sato 佐藤惇 is still feeling pain in his shoulder after screwing it up on the landing of the Log Grip back in the first stage

He's a 3rd year high school student.. for those of us in the USA.. they only have 3 years of High school so he's technically a Senior by our standards (graduation should be in March). Here he is biking to school.

Jun was part of the STQ massacre that happened in Sasuke 23.. he wasn't even close the last time and feel very very early

btw.. update the TBS Suckitude Chart™ - O gets the square with Naoya's victory

Jun Sato 佐藤惇

Here he goes on the Salmon Ladder and IMMEDIATELY has issues..

Given his shoulder is hurting this can't be good.. but he didn't have good technique to start with so this is downright disastrous..

Yep.. just what I thought.. down he goes..

Yuuji is just feeling it..

A collective groan from the All-Stars (seems Yamada has left after Stage 1 (at least it seems right now.. will find out when I do more screencaps and pay attention to the backgrounds))

Jun cannot believe his luck

well.. he got further up this time.. but he was having way too many issues and time was disappearing..

Jun Sato 佐藤惇 a little embarrassed it seems

TBS Suckitude Chart™ - X gets the square...

Yuuji Washimi 鷲見裕二 is next.. why does he always look like he's going to cry when he's on this thing??

He's taking a whoooole lotta deep deep breaths..

This may be why.. he was pwned by the Salmon Ladder back in Sasuke 18..

Then pwned again in Sasuke 19 when he was literally the last man standing and one of only 2 people in the 2nd stage as it was..

Since then he's been training hard on his own Salmon Ladder at home

Wow doing a whole lot better.. but..

His technique scares the living daylights out of me..

His whole body goes backwards and out with every single push up.. if he should miss.. oy...

After revenging the Salmon Ladder he does very well on the Unstable Bridge!

Seems the Balance Tank is the epic fail obstacle of the tourney.. it's just.. too short.. IMO..

Washimi on the Metal Spin..

Doooooh.. down on the Metal Spin!! (Okuyama and Sato getting a look from the Jumbo Tron Truck)

wtf happened to my hands...

He had it but was completely extended already..

And with the momentum his body just ripped off the chained rope

Yuuji Washimi 鷲見裕二 - Death by Metal Spin

Nice to see Washimi beats his nemesis ( spelling ok? ).

The kid Sato Jun has already improved. He has potential.

You are right, you could tell Urushihara was really pissed that Kawaguchi made the exact same mistake. Dangit!

Balance tank is way too short to be effective, it is not even a time-waster.

Tajima is a beast, reminds me of Kongu, 10 years younger but in the same occupation & same amazing strength.

Nemesis is correct :)

Oh never thought of Tajima as a Kongo Clone.. though he needs to go nuts to fit Kongo completely :D tehhehehehe
