So, it does make an obvious choice for where to find young celebrities who might have a chance at doing well at Sasuke.

And, no, I'm not just saying this as a Gakkun fangirl (he's seriously doing a great job on Gaim besides being adorkable and ripped). Remember how I suggested TBS gets celebs who might have a chance of beating the first stage? SpoDan would be a great way to see that, a celebrity trials in you will. Out of the three champions, two have been on Sasuke and probably wouldn't mind revenge (Mori and Mendy - and Mori knows who to train with! (g)). The third... GET SANO GAKU'S BUTT ON SASUKE, TBS. This and this are why. Those are official Toei behind the scenes production pics, and compiled animated .gifs from that scene, from Kamen Rider Gaim, showing Gakkun doing his own stunts - and he's done a lot of parkour/free-running type stunts as well in it, where we can see his face as he's doing them so we know it's him. He was also in a production called Tumbling that shows this stuff off. OBVIOUS CHOICE, TBS, OBVIOUS CHOICE (especially since you don't mind having him on SpoDan and having to promote the Wizard/Gaim crossover movie last time around - props for him doing his transformation pose in the shirtless intro in that one, LOL).

Side note: since for all intents and purposes this is the new Celebrity Sportsman #1, since you kept the Monster Box history, get Wakky on SpoDan, okay? Let's see if he can regain his title.jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04426620625341684543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7257291297969412550.post-65325415551526591152014-01-01T18:46:27.757-05:002014-01-01T18:46:27.757-05:00Wow...Shingo is still rippedWow...Shingo is still rippedRhondahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12152599954697392589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7257291297969412550.post-47790088731987105002013-12-19T05:38:54.080-05:002013-12-19T05:38:54.080-05:00Whoops I totally missed these comments too.. I personally don't like the backstream but you know they won't listen when I say it has to go. They'll figure it out one way or the other. The rest I'm meh about. SO long as it continues I'm all for whatever at this point.
-TBS is short on cash so the 2 things might be problematic. We'll see what happens though. I agree with both things.
-Blame NBC .. that is all :)
-ASEAN is going to be yearly just has to get it's legs under them. From all accounts it will be something to look forward to but they can't sacrifice Sasuke Japan to it. They are working on that.
-Agreed.. I don't like the title. Again I don't control that. Maybe ask one who does? You know his twitter :)

Hey Jen!
1. Been able to send more information myself which has been really good. They do read it as well (unsure of the comments though? But I'll keep them posted as much as they listen)
2. Agreed! That's why Kane was so special. Almost impossible to duplicate that feat though.
3. Actually agreed with that. Even with the NBC snub there will be some there just not as prominent as the G4 days. That's still being worked on.
4. Agreed and I asked if that will continue. So far just the YT stuff but we'll see if they work on more.

Hey Rod!
1. LOL Thanks
2. They are still planning 30.. not sure how it's going to look like. For now it seems it's hanging on by the grace of the spin offs.. can't say more than that. Maybe as the dates get closer I'll write something more on that part. But agreed they need to work on Sasuke 30's presentation as an anniversary show.
3. That sounds cool :)
4. DVD ain't happening.. waaaay too much red tape (and a cubic boatload of money that won't come out of thin air no matter how much we want it). I'm sad too .. trust me.. I pleaded. But none happening from the past shows.Arsenettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08827174580094352191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7257291297969412550.post-48006939375975419702013-12-18T22:51:41.540-05:002013-12-18T22:51:41.540-05:001. Even if it fails, the show goes out with a bang. Ask the athletes, the fans in Japan, read this blog, give what the people want, and celebrate what's been and give people reason to look forward to what lies ahead potentially.
3. If it were me, don't just hook celebrities of Japan who can compete, keep the humor, draw any Olympic or similar athletes that you can, and invite every athlete back who's climbed the tower, whether they're still able to compete or not.
4. Hope and pray they pull this off. Whether they pull this off or not, they HAVE to put a DVD together (I hope).Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02080065522344409569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7257291297969412550.post-88006257709320922612013-11-30T15:41:45.550-05:002013-11-30T15:41:45.550-05:00For the most part, I basically agree with everythi...For the most part, I basically agree with everything you said. A couple of points, though:

1. I did see your post about this blog post on SMF. Since TBS is looking for constructive feedback, are any of the Japanese fans doing a similar post that the true target audience can see and respond to and that TBS will look at? If not, I do know, from comments that you've made in the past, that Japanese fans/competitors do look here for info, but perhaps someone could try translating this and reposting this (with permission, of course!) to somewhere where TBS can get that feedback from the Japanese fans?

2. Regarding celebrities, I think what Sasuke needs isn't just star power, but star power that can actually get past the first stage. That way, people who are watching for a certain star will keep watching more of the show.

3. Philip had suggested bringing back foreign competitors, but I don't think Sasuke necessarily needs foreigners to come back in 30, much as we want them back. Unless a foreign competitor has a good sized Japanese fanbase, it won't help the ratings. (Note: I'm not counting Kane as a foreigner, even if America gets to claim him as well. (g) Lee has Japanese fans, even if his fans won't bump up the ratings since they were probably already watching, so they can let him slide.)

4. Find a way to tie in the good job that was done promoting Sasuke 29 online (with the YT channel and Inui's Twitter - and why don't they mirror the YT channel with a Nico Nico Douga channel?) with regular mainstream promotion. Online promotion seemed to be the primary means of promoting Sasuke 29, where it really should have only been just a part of the full promotional push.jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04426620625341684543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7257291297969412550.post-6068017984246260072013-11-27T17:45:31.263-05:002013-11-27T17:45:31.263-05:00Great article! My 2 cents:

I agree with your article completely but here are (in my opinion) the most important points, plus some of my own thoughts:

-The whole course should be changed but they should keep the really good obstacles, like the Crazy Cliffhanger, Vertical Limit, etc. Both Sasuke 28 & 29's courses were a hodgepodge of randomness, or how you put it, polarizing obstacle choices. Some of the obstacles were very very easy (Log Grip, Unstable Bridge) and some were way too unfair and overpowered (Backstream).

-Definitely advertise & promote the show more.

-Bring back some celebs/others that haven't been on the show in a long time.

-Bring gaijin competitors back! (It would be nice to have the top ANW guys from Las Vegas & Miska Sutela)

-Scrap the ASEAN Cup completely. I think everyone would much rather have a Sasuke 30 than a small little sideshow. The ASEAN cup was doomed from the start with weird planning.

-One last thing: They shouldn't call it Sasuke Rising, it probably confuses the casual viewers. They should just change the name back to Sasuke.Philip Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14101158427094156702noreply@blogger.com
